Free SIE study plan
How long should you study for the FINRA SIE exam? FINRA publishes no recommended study time, so this guide builds three complete plans (2, 4 and 6 weeks) from FINRA's content outline weights (Capital Markets 16%, Products and Risks 44%, Trading/Accounts/Prohibited Activities 31%, Regulatory Framework 9%), checked against finra.org on October 27, 2026. You get an hours-by-section split for about 60 hours (our own planning estimate for a beginner), day-by-day and week-by-week schedules, the study session loop and miss log, when to use FINRA's free 75-question practice test, and how booking works: a 120-day window after you enroll, no refunds, and reschedule fees of $0, $50 or $100. Hour counts and the 'high seventies twice' booking rule are our suggestions, not FINRA standards. Independent guide, not affiliated with FINRA.
