Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins: Review, Ending Explained, Trilogy Connections and the Movie

The fiftieth Hunger Games, forty-eight tributes, and a sixteen-year-old Haymitch reaped on his birthday. Hailey reviews Suzanne Collins's Sunrise on the Reaping spoiler-free, then, after a spoiler warning, explains the ending, walks through every connection to the original trilogy, and covers what to know before the November movie. Content note: violence against children and the deaths of family members are discussed.
